About Us

Learning Trails employs a developmentally appropriate approach to teaching and early development. Our philosophy is based on the following set of principles.
  • Children must have some control over the direction of their learning.
  • Children must be able to learn through experiences of touching, moving, listening, seeing, and hearing.
  • Children have a relationship with other children and with material items in the world that they must be allowed to explore.
  • Children must have endless ways and opportunities to express themselves.
  • Parents are encouraged to take part in discussions about school policy, child development concerns, and curriculum planning and evaluation.
  • Children are seen as inquisitive, intelligent, competent, resourceful individuals who can express their knowledge in various ways.
  • Environments matter in facilitating learning to all children who attend our programs.

These principles align with the curriculum approach termed  Reggio Emilia. This teaching approach has been successfully employed for several decades through various academic environments.

Parent Feedback:

We at Learning Trails School encourage parents to interact and be a part of our programming as much as possible. We have annual parent meetings to review the growth and development of our schools and its programming. Semi-annual parent teacher conferences are conducted for all age groups. These conferences allow you to participate in goal setting for your child's learning and to review your child's progress. As always we have an open door policy and encourage our families to openly communicate ideas, praises and concerns as they arise!
